The webcam, a simple, compact device that has many uses, including the ability to snap a photo or video, can now be used to create a virtual reality camera.
The $299 webcam, available in black or white, is one of several new products being launched today by the Microsoft.
They are all part of the company’s strategy to become more popular with consumers and help it expand into the video game and gaming market.
“People are looking for an app that’s fun and easy to use,” said David Hochman, the Microsoft vice president of cloud computing and services.
“This is one that people will use and enjoy.”
Microsoft is introducing new webcam products, like the $299 Microsoft One, as part of its strategy to attract more users to the company and boost its revenue.
One is a $99 webcam that includes a microphone and can shoot up to 12-megapixel images.
The Microsoft One has a higher resolution of about 100 megapixels.
“We’ve been really excited to see the uptake in video,” said Andrew Schmitz, the chief marketing officer of Microsoft.
“We’ve had a lot of success with video for our Surface Studio tablet, which is great to see.
But I think the consumer is really ready to take advantage of this new technology.”
The Microsoft One also has built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a camera that can capture a 360-degree photo.
But the One is priced lower than many of the competing products that Microsoft is releasing today.
The One is only available in the U.S. for now.
Microsoft is also introducing its own line of high-end gaming headsets called Xbox 360, which it calls Xbox One.
They come with Kinect, Xbox Wireless, an Xbox Wireless Controller, and a pair of Xbox Live Wireless controllers that are sold separately.
The Xbox 360 and Xbox One are the first devices to use Xbox Live, a multiplayer gaming service that Microsoft created to connect gamers together.
That service now includes over 2.5 million gamers worldwide, and Microsoft is expanding that reach to include video games.
Microsoft has made it clear that the Xbox 360 will be a key selling point for its new video game products.
“It’s going to be the most powerful console ever made,” Hochmann said.
“It’s the only console that’s going take gaming to a whole new level.”
Microsoft will launch the Xbox One on Aug. 8, at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
The Xbox 360 is scheduled to be available Aug. 15, and the Xbox Wireless controllers are expected to be released in September.
